Principle of piston injection pumps

 The fuel injection pump is called the “heart” of the diesel generator set, which shows the importance of the fuel injection pump for diesel generators. It is the most important component of the diesel engine fuel supply system. Its function is to increase the pressure of the diesel generator set, and supply fuel to the fuel chamber regularly and quantitatively according to the requirements of the working process of the diesel generator set. Plunger type fuel injection pump is a kind of fuel injection pump.

The piston injection pump is a device that quantitatively delivers high-pressure fuel to the injector at a specified time. The plunger and plunger sleeve are the basic components of the fuel injection pump, relying on the role of the oil pump convex and plunger spring, the plunger can do up and down reciprocating movement in the plunger sleeve, forming the function of oil injection pump oil absorption and pumping oil. In order to adjust the amount of oil injected into the cylinder, there are straight grooves and spiral chutes in the head of the plunger. The adjustment of oil supply is achieved by rotating the plunger and changing the effective stroke of the plunger. The multi-cylinder machine can form multiple sub-pumps into a total pump, which has simple structure, simple and reliable operation and convenient maintenance.

 The plunger injection pump uses the reciprocating movement of the plunger in the plunger sleeve to absorb oil and pressure oil, and each plunger and plunger sleeve only supply oil to one cylinder. For single-cylinder diesel engines, a single pump is composed of a set of plunger couples; For multi-cylinder diesel engines, multiple sets of pump oil mechanisms supply oil to each cylinder separately. Most of the medium and small power diesel engines assemble the oil pump mechanism of each cylinder in the same shell, which is called a multi-cylinder pump, and each group of oil pump mechanism is called a sub-pump. The oil pump mechanism is mainly composed of plunger couplings and oil outlet valve couplings. The lower part of the plunger is fixed with an adjustment arm, through which the position of the plunger can be adjusted and rotated. The oil outlet valve in the upper part of the plunger is pressed on the oil valve seat by the oil outlet valve spring, and the lower end of the plunger is in contact with the gasket mounted in the roller body, and the plunger spring pushes the plunger downward through the spring seat, and keeps the roller in contact with the cam on the camshaft. The fuel injection pump camshaft is driven by the diesel engine crankshaft through the transmission mechanism. For a four-stroke diesel crankshaft turns twice, the injection pump camshaft turns one turn. The cylindrical surface of the plunger is milled with a straight chute, and the inner cavity of the chute and the pump cavity above the plunger are connected by a hole. There are two round holes in the plunger sleeve, both communicating with the low-pressure oil chamber on the injection pump body. The plunger is driven by a cam and reciprocates in the plunger sleeve, in addition to which it can rotate around its own axis within a certain angle range.
