The concept of a single-line progressive lubrication system

What is a single-line lubrication system? Simply put, a single-line lubrication system is a system that uses a single supply line to deliver lubricant to the target component. It has a central pumping station that automatically delivers lubricants to the metering equipment. Each metering device serves a lubrication point and can be adapted to the needs of the application. Single-line lubrication systems are often referred to as progressive lubrication systems.

A single-line progressive lubrication system is the simplest form of lubrication system. They utilize lubrication flow to authorize specific metering devices along the supply line. Various secondary metering valves along the supply line and various secondary metering valves at the lubrication point manage the system pressure.

There are two main types of single-line lubrication systems, which are distinguished according to the way their lubricant is circulated: progressive lubricants and parallel lubrication systems. Single-line progressive lubrication systems are more common than single-line parallel systems.

The single-line progressive system is the simplest form of lubrication system. They use lubrication flows to support specific metering devices on the supply line. Various secondary metering valves at the main metering valve and lubrication point on the supply line manage the system pressure. They ensure that lubricant is supplied throughout the system and that each target component receives the right amount to meet its needs.

How does a single-line progressive lubrication system work? The single-line centralized lubrication system outputs grease at the pumping station, which changes from pine oil to oil by means of a primary distributor. This multi-channel oil is divided into more seasonal oils in the secondary distributor. As required, a three-stage distributor can be added to form a single-wire progressive oil circuit that greases hundreds of lubrication points.

Regardless of the field of application, the principle of single-line lubrication remains the same: the central pumping station automatically transports the lubricant to the lubricant metering unit via a single supply line. Each metering device serves only one lubrication point and can be adjusted to provide the exact amount of grease or oil required.

Single-line settings are the most common type of automatic lubrication system. These automatic lubrication pumps are commonly used in machine tools, printing presses, steel industry, railways, construction machinery, forestry, industrial automation, etc. Single-line lubrication systems are often a good choice when we are hesitant to choose which lubrication system, simple, reliable and flexible.
